Prison Cats Up for Paw-role at Humane Society

(VERO BEACH, Florida) – Please don't call them jailbirds! Fifteen felines from the Belle Glade Correctional Facility in Palm Beach County were recently taken in by The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County and are now up for adoption. Previously cared for by inmates, the prison facility closed on December 1 and the cats needed a safe place to stay while awaiting adoption.

The public need not worry; they're not feline felons - if you don't count stealing hearts. We’re including mug shots of a few of our “gang”: Jezabel, Garfield, Stones, Violet and Margie. It would be a crime not to adopt one of these cute cats since they're all up for paw-role!

The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County is located at 6230 77th St., Vero Beach. For more information call (772) 388-3331 ext. 10 or visit the shelter’s website at www.hsvb.org.
