Humane Society seeks toy and treat donations

(VERO BEACH, Florida) – The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County (HSVB & IRC) is asking for donations of toys and treats to help the shelter’s dogs and cats. “We’ve seen a huge decrease in the number of toys and treats donated to our shelter’s animals,” Director of Animal Care Maria Ramirez said. According to Ramirez, shelter dogs are hoping for contributions of treats, rawhides, rubber or squeaky toys while shelter felines are eager to receive catnip, food treats and small cat toys. The shelter is also seeking pet food for its food bank which helps county residents who are unable to feed their pets due to economic hardship.

Donations are gratefully accepted at four locations: The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County, located at 6230 77th St., Vero Beach, the Humane Society’s Indian River Mall “All for Paws” Boutique at 6200 20th St., Vero Beach, The Humane Society Thrift Shop in Vero Beach, located at 4445 20th St. and The Humane Society Thrift Shop in Sebastian, located at 441 Sebastian Blvd (Rt. 512). For more information call (772) 388-3331 ext. 31.

Suggested Cutline: Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County guest Frankie spends time with a pink pig toy donated to the shelter. The shelter is seeking toys and treats to comfort animals while they are seeking new homes.
